Team Policies 2016-2017

 

Gas Compensation Policy:

Drivers who drive to lessons, practice rides, and shows will be paid a total of $5.00 by each member who is riding in the car. Drivers who drive to Horse Helpers will be paid $2.00 by each member who is riding in the car. If a person fails to compensate their driver, they have ONE week to pay that driver. If that person fails to compensate their driver, they will be placed on member probation.

 

Fees & Resignation From Team:

If members decide to leave the team, refunds will not be administers for lessons, memberships, practices, ect.

 

Member Requirements:

In order to be considered an official member of the equestrian team, you must pay club dues and volunteer at least one day at Horse Helpers, as well as volunteer at the IDA Show that we host at the Foothills Equestrian Center.

 

Attendance Policy:

All of our meetings are mandatory. They are held every Wednesday in the Roan Mountain Room in the Plemmons Student Union from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. If you have an emergency or circumstances arise to where you are not able to attend, please notify us ASAP at asueqteam@gmail.com. If you fail to contact the team and consecutively fail to attend, we will have to meet to discuss the absences and riders will be placed on probation.

 

Practice Cancellation Policy: 

Coaches schedule practices and the available lesson times vary. Schedule times are subject to change. Once you have worked your personal schedule out, carpool will be arraigned. If you must cancel a practice or are unable to attend, you must notify your coach at least 24 hours in advance unless an emergency occurs or you are involved a critical situation. If you fail to notify your coach at least 24 hours in advance, you are not guarenteed a make-up practice or lesson. You MUST contact your captain if you change lesson times.

Health & Practice Policy:

Riders MUST eat a meal one hour before driving to a practice and bring at least one bottle of water or similar beverage to drink and to refill at the riding facilities. Hydration is very important so please bring those bottles to the arena with you so you may have easy access to fluids during practices and lessons. It is also encouraged that riders bring snacks to the facility to eat after a practice or lesson.

COMPETING POLICIES:

Show Cancellation Policy:

If you sign up for the show and then decide you do not want to compete, you will be responsible for your entry fee unless you can find someone to fill your spot.  That is approximately 30$ for Hunt Seat, 40$ for Western, and 50$ for Dressage.

 

Tall Boots Policy:

Competing riders must wear tall boots they are to compete in and a fitted shirt, tucked in to lessons.

Meetings Prior to Shows:

It is mandatory that competing members come to the meeting that is held on the Wednesday before their show. This is important because this is where we put together carpooling options. If you do not attend this meeting, you will not compete in the show.
